Sunday I am giving the Christmas message in Young Women's and as I've pondered on what I want to share with these girls I can't help but stop and think, as a woman and as a mother, what must it have been like to be the mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ? I must admit that the concept is overwhelming. Most of us have seen the Nativity (a movie put out by the church), but I found this song "Breath of Heaven", by Amy Grant -- This is Mary singing her thoughts and concerns... when put together, Life has new meaning.

MX Rockstar!

I am so proud of Coleton! He races at Rocky Mountain Raceway in their motocross series and he took 3rd overall in his 65 class! This is a big accomplishment. There are 15+ racers in his class, the track is a mile long and they have to to 4 laps each moto and 2 moto's a night... so not only does it take skill, but endurance. This kid can race!

Last night RMR had a Banquet where they honored the top racers and Coleton was invited to attend. It was a nice dinner and award ceremony. This is his 3 year in a row where he has been invited to this Banquet. We are so proud of him and for all of his accomplishments!

Coleton, Thank you for the adventure!

Halloween

I love holidays, but Halloween has got to be my favorite! Dressing up! Candy! Running around! Parties! Homemade donuts & rootbeer! Candy!.... CANDY! I'm just kidding. I like candy, but not that much :P But I know my kids got a lot this year so if you know anyone who didn't, we will gladly donate :P

With my kids being off track there were no school parties or parades to plan. So Aunt Bekah took the day off to come play! Aimee, Bekah, and I dressed up as biker chicks (I'm the blonde) and headed out with our kids. We went trick or treating, out to lunch, and back to Aimee's to decorating sugar cookies. The kids had a blast! By the time we came home we only had minutes to feed them dinner, touch up their costumes, and send them out around the neighborhood. What a perfect night.

We miss all our friends and hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! It just wasn't the same this year not having our annual party, but we hope things will be different next year and that we can all get together again soon!

Daddy Daughter Date

Since Elise turned 8 back in April she has had a wonderful time going to Activity Days in our neighborhood. This month they decided to do a Daddy Daughter Date and Elise was so excited. So to make this special we took her out shopping to let her chose an outfit and we got on the 'girly do' blog site and I let her choose her hairstyle and we had a fun time getting ready for the date... it made me think that in just 8 short years she will be dating other boys (that I hope I approve of)and I can't believe how fast time goes. Someone once said that you really only have 18 years with your kids before they move out for college or to start their own family... when you think of it that way every moment is special.. every second counts.

I am so thankful for Elise. I love her so very much.

Summer Splash!

Isn't life great! So many things have happened since I last updated I just thought I would share a few and the slide show above will show some pics.

Coleton had a birthday -- I can't believe how big he's gotten. What a character, he planned his own party.. he had R/C car races. I thought there is no way this is going to work, but it did-- all the boys had a great time and I think he has 'converted' some friends into R/C's.

He also received his Arrow of Light. I am so proud of him. It's a lot of hard work, but he stuck to it and it was a really neat ceremony -- afterwards he was all smiles and said it was worth it.

The kids started school all 3 are in full time so I decided to get a PT job there at the school and I'm loving it. The kids love their teachers and have been enjoying the year... today marks the first night where we are all off track and so big plans are in the making.

We went to Bear Lake twice! Once with my family where we camped it at the KOA in our trailer and enjoyed the beach and boating and once with Robs family where we stayed in a rental home and were able to enjoy 16 acres of land to four-wheel on. We love Bear Lake! We have been going every year since we were married and it just makes for fun memories and strong family ties. From the moment we come home our kids begin the count down till the next year!

We love you all and thanks for being patient, we will be updating more regularly!

To Be Updated, very soon!

I know I'm terrible-- but would you believe me if I tell you that my internet has be down for several days ... and I'm still trying to catch my breath with my new job :P But I promise I will get this updated very soon... just not tonight, I'm too sleepy.

I SURVIVED GIRLS CAMP!!

I survived Girls Camp! Oh yes, I did!

About a month ago I got called to be the Girls Camp Cook, I thought 'SURE, this will be so much fun'. Holy Cow, it was a lot of fun, but it was also a lot of work!

We arrived on Wednesday, and after setting up camp we had free time. Rob & the kids were still there so we got a game of volleyball going. Near the middle of the game I twisted my foot pretty good in a pot hole and had to sit out.. at the end of free time Rob left for home and I prepared for my first meal. As the day progressed my foot got bigger and bigger till it wasn't fitting so well in my shoe. Lucky for me we had another free time scheduled and so for the full 3 hours I was able to put my foot up with ice on it. That brought the swelling down so my foot could fit back into my shoe and then I was back to cooking for the next meal. By the end of the night I thought, there is no way I can do this. I prayed for nearly 10 minutes asking for help, before I went to bed. The next morning 2 things happened. First -- my foot felt soooo much better (I couldn't run & jump on it, but I could walk) and Second -- Our ward needed another Priesthood leader up at camp and so Rob had to come back up. And when he was there he helped me with every little thing! My prayer was answered more than I could have hoped for!

I loved Girls Camp! I loved being with the girls! I loved getting to know the leaders better! I loved having my family up there with me and spending time with them!

Swim Lessons

So to keep my kids busy this summer we have signed them up in swimming lessons. They have been going for 6 weeks now and have become quite the little swimmers! I love seeing them swim. I love seeing them dive for rings at the bottom of the deep end. I love seeing them jump off the diving board. I love it!!! See just a year ago they absolutely hated it and every morning they would be screaming not to go, but this year they just jumped in & conquered their fears, I am so proud!
*just keep swimmin, just keep swimmin

Birthday Surprise!

Me & My Honey

OUR PILOT -- jimmy

I had a perfect birthday! My husband has this friend who has his pilot license and they worked it out so I was able to go flying on my birthday! I am so thankful for Natalie & Jim!!! They are such great friends! It really made my day. I am usually not an emotional person, but after such a beautiful view of the valley I couldn't help, but think about how blessed I am.

The only thing that I have to say is next time.... NO ROLLER COASTER!!!

iFLY

How cool is this! So every year Grandma Linda & Papa take the kids for a sleepover. Girls one night and then Boys another. And every year they are so creative to put a theme to their sleepovers & the kids love it! This year the boys were taught about being a missionary and angels protecting them... they then took them to iFLY down in Ogden, UT, and let them practice flying. Coleton loved it! It was so great to see him as he stepped out into the unknown and succeed! Rob and I have tried to teach our children to be afraid of nothing, to believe in themselves, and to trust in the Lord & they will succeed. I love watching them grow up and face these challenges and seeing their confidence grow as they accomplish what they set out to do.

Happy Month of JUNE Robbie!

Every June all month long Rob is showered with gifts, money, and love from family and friends because of his birthday & father's day... so we just say Happy Month of June! And every year it drives me crazy because my family loves to make sure to drag it out... All in all it's funny, but I can not believe how spoiled that man is :P

What time is it? SUMMER TIME!

Schools Out! End of the school year is here and the kids are so excited. We have BIG plans for the summer and they can't wait to get started.

Every year there is always an award ceremony and this year both Coleton & Elise took home the 'Leadership' award. I was so proud because only ONE per grade gets that and they took it. Coleton's teach later told him that the Leadership award is given to the child that is kind to everyone, gets along with everyone, and sets a good example for everyone... He was very happy!

WAY TO GO KIDS!

Elise's Baptism

This was such a beautiful day. I am so proud of Elise and for her decision in being baptized. The spirit was so strong and when I went into the back room to help Elise up the stairs I was so happy and there was so much love and the spirit testified to me that Elise had made the right choice.. I can't completely explain it, but it was beautiful.

I want to thank our family and friends for coming and supporting Elise and helping me with Lunch. It was all delicious! WE LOVE YOU ALL!

DANCE LIKE NOBODY'S WATCHING

You've heard the saying, 'DANCE TILL YOU DROP'? Oh my goodness. I did drop! Not only was I busy with field trips, yard work (to get ready for the baptism bar b q), house work (all that laundry from our camping weekend), the actual baptism (that I had to speak at & make the programs), we had DANCE, DANCE, DANCE all week. Tuesday we had the dress rehearsal (4 till 6:30), Wednesday we had pictures (4:30 till 6:15). and then Friday was the SHOW! (6 till 9).

But it was all worth it in the end. Once the girls hit the stage you could do nothing but smile! I hope that they remember these moments and when life gets hard 'Dance Like Nobody's Watching'!

2nd Grade Tracey Aviary

This was Elise's field trip for 2nd Grade. The funny thing is, is that I was so prepared yesterday with Faith's fields trip that my bag was so heavy for no reason (because it didn't rain) and so I lightened my load and only took the bare necessities and it POURED on us! How crazy is that! But we did have a great time. On the way home I had 1/2 the bus singing with me.. even one little boy said "I don't want this day to ever end, can I take you home" LOL!

Elise's favorite part of the field trip was 'seeing the Golden Eagle and the Bald Eagle because they were really cool and very rare'.

KINDERGARTEN ZOO DAY

Today was Faith's first field trip! We went to the ZOO and saw all the fun animals, ate a picnic lunch, and enjoyed the bird show. We thought for sure it would rain so we were prepared, but we got lucky. It was a perfect day.

Faith's favorite part was the penguins. She thinks their so cute!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD

A little girl needs her daddy
To love her with manly charm,
To soothe her when she’s hurt,
And keep her safe from harm.

A girl needs her dad
To show her a man who’s good,
To help her make right choices,
As only a father could.

A woman needs her father
Just to be aware,
He’ll always be there for her
To sustain her and to care.

You’ve been all these things. I hope you can see how much I treasure you; You mean everything to me. I love you dad!

Memorial Weekend

I bet you can't guess what we did for the Memorial Weekend?

What Happens in Vegas...

You know the saying, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"? Well we disagree. We wanted to share with you some things 'what happened in Vegas' this last weekend.

The Flamingo Casino has a beautiful habitat in the middle of the Casino. It has penguins, ducks, turtles, and flamingos. It was the perfect background for a family photo.

Coleton was trying really hard to get his dad to rent this car for the weekend.

Caesar Palace was one of our favorite hotels to walk thru, the statues are beautiful. Here Cleo & Caesar welcomed us to their home :P

We have some wild kids! At Circus, Circus they loved anything that made them go upside down, round & round, or really fast... I about got sick just watching.

I was really surprise how fascinated my kids were with the Bellagio Fountains. It was the perfect spot to stop, have lunch, and rest from walking the strip.

Our Friends the Hunters! We were so lucky to have such great friends go with us and show us the sights.

Soakin' up the Sun & Feelin' Hot!

We had a blast at the Supercross! Here's Rob and Greg in the Pitts doing what they do best, playing around.

Girls Piano Recital

What an enjoyable evening. I'm so proud of my girls. They practiced so hard for this night and it was perfect! Thank you Aunt Aimee for being an Awesome Piano Teacher!

My Mother My Friend

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving

My Beautiful Mother. My Beautiful Friend. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Today is my Mother's birthday. We had a wonderful evening at the Alpine Country Club. We hit a bucket of balls on the golf course and then enjoyed a nice dinner. It was so fun to have the family together in such a nice environment. I hope that I am as beautiful as she is when I am her age. The older I get the more I understand how amazing my mom is. I look to her more than she knows. I hope to be half as good of mother as she was for me and my brothers & sisters. **I love you mom **

Tagged...

I was tagged by Hollie and so I thought I better get this over with :P I'm really bad at this sort of thing. I have to really think hard about what I like to do that would be special and I just don't think I'm that exciting, so sorry to bore you, but I was tagged so here it is.....

1. I LOVE TO PARTY! If there is a party coming up in 2-3 months, I start OBSESSING about it immediately. I am told that I go overboard with things, but when you see the faces of the children - - it's all worth it!
“Life gives us brief moments with another...but sometimes in those brief moment we get memories that last a life time...”

2. I'M COMPETITIVE! Whether I win or loose, I love a good game. And as my family can attest, I never loose :P -heee hee!
I'm just teasing. But I do love being pushed and challenged and learning new things.

3. I'M A BOOKWORM! I love a good story. When I find a good book I will read it from front to back that day (unless it's Twilight and that took a day and a half because my husband made me go to bed:P ). The problem is, the house suffers, Rob will come home to toys everywhere and dinner not started, so he's not a big fan of my "hobby".

4. I LOVE FUN SHOES! I do, but part of it is the bargain I'm able to get.... so if I can find some metallic, hot pink shoes for $7 I will buy them! It's fun to see the reaction you get from people when you walk into a place wearing them!

5. I LOVE TO COOK! But I have a bad habit, I cook according to flavors and tastes that I love, not recipes. And so when people ask me for my recipe I can't help them because I don't even know it. That has come back to bite me in the butt, because when I have a cold and can't taste -- I can't cook :P My family is stuck with Mac n' Cheese for a week!

6. I LOVE TO DANCE! It's a way I let go and just enjoy the moment. I love that Rob loves to dance too. And that when he hears the music he thinks of me and whatever I'm doing (like dishes) he will come and ask me to dance with him. What a romantic :P

So there it is! I survived! Now I get to tag 6 people: I don't even know 6 people who blog -- So Natalie * Libby * Lara * Linz GOOD LUCK ! Here are the rules:

1. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
2. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and post their names; then goes to their blog, leaves them a comment by letting them know that they have been tagged and invites them to read your blog.

Camping This Weekend

We love going camping! The moment it hits 40* we head out. So when the Drury's invited us down to Cherry Creek for Trevor's birthday party we could not say no (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREVOR). We headed down Friday afternoon and as soon as we arrived we got covered in dirt from head to toe as we collected firewood, played in the sand, road our dune buggies, and raced our motorcycles. What a BLAST! Later that night we roasted marshmallows and sang songs around the campfire with our friends, the Drury's and the Hunter's. Saturday morning was perfect weather. We got up early and headed out for a group ride down to the lake to play. Then as we went back to camp we celebrated Trevor's birthday by playing games and racing our bikes. There was lots of good fun, lots of good food, and lots of good friends! We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and love hanging out with them. Thanks for the great weekend!

If you head over to Coleton's Blog you can see a slideshow of this weekend.

Easter Morning

Happy Easter! This year we were not sure if the Easter Bunny came or not at first. We walked downstairs and it looked exactly like the way we left it the night before. But mom knew the bunny would not do that to us -- so she had us search the entire house-- and that's when we saw them, our EASTER BASKETS! Woohoo!

This weekend was a blast! We love spending time with our family, we love eating yummy food, and we love candy! It doesn't get any better than this! Check out our slide show below for all the fun pics we took. LOVE YA ALL!

Happy Saint Patties!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! This morning was nice. Rob actually slept in and had breakfast with us. We ate yummy GREEN waffles on green plates (it's funny how the color changes the way you think it's going to taste... Elise had a hard time getting past that). Then we headed to Faith's school program. It was so cute to hear them sing about Lucky the Leprechaun and then we got to tour the classroom to see the messy trail Lucky left as he bounced from trap to trap. We thought we did pretty good because it looked like Lucky stayed and had a snack in our trap (1/2 the chocolate was gone) :P

AREN'T THEY CUTE

My Girls

A Girls Day Out

Rob and Coleton decided to head down to the DUNES for some riding so I took the girls out. We had so much fun getting all dolled up to go out to lunch and then shopping! We were looking for Easter dresses and boy did we hit the jack pot. We grabbed 20+ dresses and headed for the dressing rooms! It was so much fun to be silly and try on all the dresses. The girls were princesses! Elise found her Baptism dress and we found a few dresses that 'we just had to have'. Thank you daddy for your credit card :P

Now it begins...

It's official... I'm a BLOGGER! I guess I can add that to my list of interests. (hee, hee) I'm excited to get this up and running. It will be fun to share all the fun things that happen in our lives with everyone. To begin I just thought I would introduce you to my family: Rob, is my hopelessly romantic husband! He is incredible! He works long hours to support us and then he still comes home and plays with the kids. He is always happy, always encouraging, and very supportive of our kids and their interests. I am so blessed. Next there's Coleton, our oldest child and only son. From the day he came into our life, it has been an amazing adventure! He is an avid MOTO X RACER. In the 10 short years he has made "tracks" wherever he goes! Racing at the E Center, Racing at the Delta Center, Racing with Governor Huntsman at RMR, Being interviewed on TV... the list goes on -- what a ride! Elise is our 'middle' child and oldest girl. What an amazing woman! She plays the piano, drives dune buggies, and loves to dance. This girl has so much inner strength! We tease my sister, Bekah, that Elise can beat her up, because Elise has won her in an arm wrestling match (Bekah is 25 - Elise is 7). Elise can do anything she sets her mind to and she does it with SAS! Love it! Faith, our 'baby'. Only she isn't like your average "youngest child" syndrome... she is so Ms. Independent! She taught herself everything she knows, just ask her -- she'll tell you. She loves to dance, ride bikes, put on make up, and TALK! If she doesn't have a friend over, she is on the phone talking to one (keep in mind she is only 6) She keeps us laughing! We are so blessed to have these 3 beautiful spirits in our home. Each day is an adventure and we are Lovin' Life!
